Introducing our cutting-edge Veterinary Intensive Care Unit (ICU) – a revolutionary solution designed to provide exceptional care.

Here's why our ICU stands out:

  • Dual Treatment Capability: Our ICU features a removable divider, allowing you to treat two pets simultaneously with individualized care. This ensures efficient use of resources and optimal patient care.

  • Streamlined Control: With a single control panel, managing the ICU environment has never been easier. Set and monitor temperature and oxygen levels, ensuring consistent care for both patients without any hassle.

  • Expandable Design: Looking to enhance your clinic's capacity? Add a second story to your ICU! ($11,000. extra) The second level mirrors the first, complete with its control board. Now, you can accommodate more patients without compromising on quality care.

  • Optional Oxygen Concentrator: For an additional $1500.00, equip your ICU with a 10L oxygen concentrator. One concentrator can efficiently supply the ICU unit. If you decide to add a second level, an extra concentrator will be needed for comprehensive care. - https://newvetequipment.com/veterinary-oxygen-concentrator

ENHANCED SAFETY FEATURES

Utilizing cutting-edge PHI (Photo-hydro-ionization) technology for real-time disinfection and deodorization, ensuring a safe and sterile environment that is also animal-friendly.

Incorporating an Internal & External Circulation Design, the internal circulation acts as a protective buffer against cross-infection.

The system automatically engages external circulation when oxygen concentration falls below 20% or CO2 concentration exceeds 2000ppm.

Additionally, a built-in battery provides 30 minutes of uninterrupted use, activating external circulation during power interruptions. Oxygen input warnings and power failure protection are in place to prevent human oversight.

IMPROVED COMFORT

Featuring a silent air conditioning system and ion therapy to mitigate the impact of reactive oxygen species (ROS), promoting recovery and benefiting SPO2 levels. The 3-in-1 Light system offers white light for examination, warm light for observation, and blue light for therapy, with adjustable brightness and timing functions.

INTELLIGENT AND USER-FRIENDLY

Pre-set parameters cater to over 90% of cases, with three clinical scenes color-coded for easy identification (red/yellow/green). Real-time parameter display and a user-friendly large touch screen make the system easy to read and operate.

We really are enjoying the ICU unit. I believe it is far superior to the other units I have used. When the machine is set, its temperature, humidity and its oxygen levels stay consistent. I especially like that I do not need to use soda lime to scavenge the CO2. The stainless-steel construction makes it both durable and easy to clean. If anyone is interested in seeing the unit in operation, please do not hesitate to have them contact me.

FAQ - ICU Veterinary Unit

  • Condensation Management - Do we need a "drip" pan for condensation?

Yes. A drip pan is necessary for managing condensation.

Drip pan is required.

Oxygen Concentrator Usage

  • Should I use the bubbler for the oxygen concentrator?

It depends. Use the bubbler if the required humidity is below 20%. Usually, it is not needed.

  • Should I turn on "internal circulation" to reach the ideal oxygen percentage faster?

Yes. The oxygen concentration will increase rapidly when the machine is closed during internal circulation.

  • What is the best temperature setting?

Adjust the temperature based on clinical requirements to meet the patient's specific needs.

  • The temperature was set to 78 degrees and remained at that level for a while, but then I noticed it had dropped to 74 degrees. Is there a specific percentage decrease in temperature that occurs before the heat turns back on?

This is completely normal, so there's no need to worry. The actual temperature and oxygen concentration inside are not constant. When you set the target temperature to 78°F, the heater will stop working once the temperature reaches that point. After some time, the temperature will naturally drop a bit. Once it falls below the target, the heater will automatically turn on again to bring the temperature back up to your desired level.

  • What is the best oxygen percentage setting?

Adjust the oxygen percentage based on clinical requirements to meet the patient's specific needs.

  • What is the recommended quick start procedure for turning on the machine?

Follow the video instructions. A detailed video will be sent to you later for guidance.

External Circulation System

  • What is external circulation used for?

The external circulation system removes CO2 from the ICU unit. Unlike the traditional method using soda lime, which needs daily replacement and may be unreliable, our second-generation ICU uses an air conditioner and fans to remove CO2 directly. This system eliminates the need for consumables and switches automatically when CO2 levels reach 2000 ppm, making it safer and smarter.

  • When the external circulation is activated to release CO2 from the unit, will it automatically switch back to internal circulation once CO2 levels have decreased, or do we need to manually switch back to maintain O2 levels?

The ICU will switch back to the internal circulation to maintain O2 levels automatically. You do not need to do anything.

For better understanding, here’s how it works:

  • Set Up Target O2 Value: You can set your desired oxygen (O2) concentration level.

  • External Circulation Activation: When CO2 levels reach 2000 ppm, the system activates external circulation to remove CO2.

  • CO2 Reduction: After approximately 1-2 minutes, once CO2 levels drop below 600 ppm, the system will automatically switch to internal circulation.

  • Maintaining O2 Levels: The internal circulation will then continue to increase and maintain the oxygen concentration to reach your target value.

Disinfection and Maintenance

  • Should the unit be disinfected after every patient?

If there is an infectious disease, disinfect the unit after use. Otherwise, follow hospital protocols for disinfection frequency.

  • Does the oxygen concentrator need to be cleaned routinely?

Yes. Clean the intake air filter approximately every 300 hours. Remove the filter, clean with a mild household cleaner, rinse with water, dry completely, and reinstall.

  • Does the tubing need to be changed routinely?

Replace the tubing only when it shows signs of wear or damage.

  • What is the best technique for cleaning the tubing?

There is no need to clean the tubing. Replace it when it is damaged.

  • Is there any additional routine maintenance for the ICU machine or the oxygen concentrator?

ICU Unit: Clean the air conditioner's heat dissipation board if animal fur accumulates.

  • Oxygen Concentrator:

1. Disconnect the power cord before cleaning.

2. Only operate with the filters installed or while the filters are wet.

3. Clean the exterior with a soft towel and mild household cleaner, then wipe dry. Do this once or twice a month.

Monitoring and Accuracy

  • What is the accuracy of the SPO2% with two pets in the unit?

Currently, the ICU cannot monitor SPO2. This function is reserved for future upgrades.

  • How does the system vent CO2, and how accurate is it?

The system uses "external circulation" to remove CO2, similar to a car’s ventilation system. It eliminates the need for consumables like soda lime. The system automatically activates the external circulation mode when CO2 levels reach 2000 ppm. Extensive experiments have ensured the accuracy of this system.
